These rectangular copper hook earrings have bars of brass, set off with a lapis drop. The wide cuff bracelet is made primarily from copper, with slender bands of brass detail at each edge. Each bold set is hand made by Jorge and Eliana Sepulveda in Casas Viejas, Chile.
The Supelveda business began as a way for Jorge to pay his high school fees, and has continued for two decades. They favour copper and brass for their affordable availability, and technical compatibility. To draw colours from the copper, they use a bath of salts and oxides, and the colours are later sealed with varnish.
